Happy Father's Day to My Main Man

No matter how fun, cute, cool and lovable this one gets

This one is always going to be #1!

I have absolutely loved watching him as a father.

He is so great at loving, encouraging us.  I never would have dreamed we would grow so much through this parenting process...and we are only a month into it!   I am looking forward to the days, months and years ahead to learn more about him and watch him in this role.  I know that our son is so incredibly blessed to have him as his father and I am grateful for the roll that he takes.  He is never hesitant to step in and help out and he is a living example of selfless love, tireless work, upstanding character and God fearing leadership.  Knowing him challenges me to be a better person.  I learn from him daily and I know that he is going to be a wonderful example for our son.

Deut 12:10 - And He will give you rest from all your enemies around you so that you will live in safety

He is also one heck of a husband...but that's what anniversaries are to celebrate.

HAPPY 1st FATHER'S DAY, BABE!!!

Strollin'

We have finally realized  (nice how I word that...finally...like he's been here forever and has just now done it!) that we love napping outside.  GREAT for mom!  I can take him with me to the barn now and have him outside with me when I am watering plants or doing something in the yard. This is one of our favorite gifts...Lee's #1 favorite - a Jeep Stroller.  Our wonderful friends, the Dodson's gave this to us and I think we are going to LOVE it!  One of these days (too soon, I fear) we will be able to actually fit in it properly.

I love some of these pictures:

This is one precious little boy.  Can you say peaceful?  Too bad you can't see his sinful side here!
Ha ha.  This little rascal has a temper that you cannot imagine!  Boy, oh, Boy.

I joke about his temper, but this is one sweet little man.  And I think I love him.

I have really enjoyed hanging out with him this week!  Looking forward to more days of fun.

Coming Home

This was Gage's coming home picture!

Oh my goodness...I cannot believe he is sooo small!  He has the newborn outfit on that I took to the hospital for him to wear home....that ended up being HUGE on him.  While at the hospital on Saturday, they let us know that afternoon that they were going to let us go home.  Wow - quick change of plans!  As we thought we were going to be there at least another day, we had not done our infant CPR training, had his carseat test or gone to a class that they recommend for new parents.  So....we did all of them in the next few hours....took showers, rested for a bit (I was still a little unstable at this point if I did too much...definitely deserving of my "Fall Risk" bracelet) and waited until the next shift change of nurses who could release us and left the hospital at 8:00 pm on Saturday, May 21, 2011 with a child in tow!  Lee and I talked on the way home about how crazy it is (even though you created and birthed that child into the world) that they let people like us take them home.  I mean...they had no clue about how little we knew!  I rode in the back seat with him (so that I could see if he accidentally pulled something out of the air to cover his face and suffocate himself with) and we made it all the way home saftely with our newborn, sleeping child.  Wow, how our lives had changed in the last 4 days!

Cool thing was...we couldn't wait!  We were absolutely loving life, loving each other and loving this new 6 lb 8 oz (lost 2 oz in hospital) bundle of life that we now had to care for.

Here are a few more pictures from our first night at home.  Mom and Matt had gone to our house earlier in the day to finish up some things for us and were still there when we arrived.  Even though it was not in my original "plan", it worked out great because neither of them got to hold Gage at the hospital because he was in the NICU the whole time.
